EXCITING NEW FORMAT FOR THE JUNIOR MASTERS CIRCUIT IN 2010!!!

In 2010, the Junior Masters Circuit will be implementing a number of new and exciting changes to the existing format. These changes include:

1. New Age Groups: Junior Draw - For ages 12 and under; and Teenage Draw - for 13-17year olds. Draws within each age group will band children of similar standard together.

2. Boys and Girls will be combined within each age group.

3. Each player will be guaranteed to play at least 4 matches - including singles and doubles. The entry fee includes both singles and doubles, and all doubles partners will be appointed.

4. Trophies/awards for Junior Draw will be based on sportsmanship and skill ONLY, not on winning the event. This places more emphasis on participation and fun, rather than winning, and allows the younger children to put into practice the skills they have learnt during their coaching classes. Trophies will be presented based on the following categories: On Court Behaviour, Risk Taker, Determination, Teamwork, Network and lucky player prizes. Trophies/awards for the Teenage Draw will be presented to event winners as usual.

5. Junior Draw matches will be played each morning of an event only (AM), and the Teenage Draw will be held each afternoon (PM).

      DUNLOP DEVELOPMENT CIRCUIT 2010!

(Includes Hot Shots - Modified Tennis Program)

In 2010, the Dunlop Development Circuit is also seeing some new and exciting changes similar to the changes to the Junior Masters Circuit. These changes are outlined below:

1. The Dunlop Development Circuit is designed for children who are just starting out in Tournaments. Players are banded together within each age group, therefore children of similar standards play together where possible.

2. Entry Eligibility: To ensure this circuit remains an entry level tournament the following entry criteria will be applied: The top 24 JMC Teenage Players are ineligible to enter this circuit. The top 24 JMC Junior Players can only enter the Teenage draw in this circuit, and if any player wins the singles event in their age group twice in a Dunlop Tournament, then that player is ineligible to play that age group again, however, they may enter an older age group in future tournaments (if applicable).

3. New Age Groups: Junior Draw - For ages 12 and under; Teenage Draw - 13-15 years; MLC Tennis Hot Shots - a modified tennis program for players 5-11 years of age who are currently playing with the modified red, orange and green balls. (Players who have advanced to the normal hard tennis ball should enter the Junior Draw).

4. Boys and Girls will be COMBINED within each age group.

5. The entry fees for the Junior and Teenage Draw includes BOTH singles and doubles. All doubles partners will be appointed by Tennis Brisbane.

6. Trophies/awards for the Junior Draw will be based on Sportsmanship and Skill ONLY, not for winning the event. This places more emphasis on participation and fun, rather than winning, and allows the younger children to put into practice the skills they have learnt during their coaching lessons. Trophies will be presented based on the following categories: On Court Behaviour, Risk Taker, Determination, Teamwork, Network, and lucky player prizes. Trophies for the Teenage Draw will be presented to the winners of each event as usual.

7. Junior Draw Matches will be played in the afternoon (PM) of each day of the event, and the Teenage Draw will be played each morning (AM). The Hot Shots draw will be played on the mornings of the first and third day of the event.
